Description
ZITCEF 200-LB is a combination of Cefixime + Lactic Acid bacillus .It is used to treat patients with bacterial infections. This medication works as an antibiotic by stopping the growth of bacteria and also killing it.
Cefixime is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. This medication is known as a cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu).
Lactic acid bacillus is a probiotic that are good for the gut. They prevent the growth of the other pathogenic bacteria that cause diarrhea or other bacterial infections. Thus, it helps in treating bacterial infections.

- Urinary Tract Infection
This medicine may be used in the treatment of urinary tract infections caused by E. coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococci, and Klebsiella pneumoniae in patients who are prone to antibiotic-associated diarrhea.
- Respiratory Tract Infection
This medicine may be used for the treatment of infections in the respiratory tract such as tonsilitis/pharyngitis, bronchitis caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, and some fungal infections in patients who are prone to antibiotic-associated diarrhea.
- Biliary tract infections
This medicine may be used in the treatment of biliary tract infections in patients who are prone to antibiotic-associated diarrhea
- Ear infections
Cefixime was effective in (88.57%) of patients with uncomplicated UTI, in infections caused by susceptible pathogens such as E. coli, Proteus spp and Klebsiell
Community-acquired infections, such as AOM, LRTI and UTI, caused by susceptible pathogens, can be treated with cefixime, as a good choice for a successful clinical response
